Journey On
At first I thought this recording was a little funny and didn't think i would get much out of it. The voice telling me to loosen any restrictive clothing and loosen your tie if you have one just seemed funny to me. i decided to really listen and follow his directions to try and get what I could out of it. I did notice a tingling in my arms and hands when he first said to concentrate on redirecting your blood flow. I think that it was a real feeling for me because it wasn't something he suggested I would feel. I didn't really notice my arms and hands getting warm but they did feel heavy. Is this a true feeling or just a feeling because he said it would feel that way? I do think that by focusing you can relax your self and have a sense of peace and relaxation without all the other talking. Try laying in bed at night and focusing on each individual limb and relaxing one at a time it works great and feels very good after.

Hello Heidi, I am excited to try this exercise:) I am not about to do it right now because it's mid day and I need all the energy I can muster to get through the rest of my day:) I do use the limb relaxing technique before bed. I am pretty good at relaxing my body at night-it's my brain that simply never wants to be quiet!

I too thought the exercise was a little silly at first. I mean, take off my watch?! For what, it's not even tight? But as it went on, I realized it was actually relaxing, but energizing at the same time. I totally agree with you about laying in bed. I do that on nights when I can't fall asleep and it works every single time.
ReplyDeleteHe was a little weird with all the clothes loosening I couldn't help but laugh and my son was listening and wanted to know what the guy was really up to. I think it would have been better with a female voice men don't have as calming and relaxing voices as women they sound a little creepy when they try.

It was quite funny at first in the beginning with the voice saying to loosen any tight clothing, but I mean I guess it did help with the relaxation a bit. You made a good point on whether if it is a true feeling or just a feeling because he said it would feel that way regarding the tingling feeling in your arm. Either way, it did help me feel relaxed and less stressed.
ReplyDeleteYou felt more than I felt doing the exercise. I couldn't feel anything or get into the exercise. I don't understand how to allow myself to relax and redirect my blood flow. I think the suggestion of making sure you loosen any restrictive clothing is a good suggestion. how can you relax if you was wearing something that doesnt allow you to feel relaxed entirely.
